The ping Series

See and Be Seen. Fly with Confidence.

Industry-leading Size, Weight and Power (SWaP), certified avionics that broadcast UAS position and receive real-time ADS-B traffic for safer, smarter flights.

ADS-B is at the core of integrated airspace operations — and uAvionix is the leading provider of aviation-grade, SWaP-optimized solutions for both ADS-B Out and ADS-B In. Whether you’re broadcasting your location for BVLOS approval, receiving traffic alerts for Detect and Avoid, or building an autonomous UAS for the future of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), our ADS-B transponders and receivers give you the visibility — and trust — to fly in complex airspace.

FAQ's

Navigation with truFYX GPS

Why is GPS integrity important for UAS navigation, and how does truFYX address it?

GPS integrity ensures reliable navigation by validating position data. truFYX provides high-integrity GPS/SBAS outputs and uses Fault Detection and Exclusion (FDE) to maintain accuracy even in the absence of SBAS, meeting the performance requirements of FAA TSO-C145e.

Can truFYX be integrated into both autopilots and ADS-B systems?

Yes, truFYX supports integration with UAS autopilots and ADS-B OUT solutions by providing simultaneous NMEA and MAVLink outputs. This reduces the need for multiple GPS units on board. See the truFYX-NMEA-ICD, truFYX EXT Datasheet, and the truFYX TSO User and Installation manual for more information. <link to documents>

What environmental conditions can truFYX operate in?

truFYX operates in temperatures ranging from -45°C to +70°C and altitudes up to 25,000 feet. The truFYX EXT version includes an internal heater for operation in extremely low temperatures down to -60°C. Reference truFYX EXT Data Sheet Rev C and the truFYX TSO User and Installation Manual <link to documents> for more information.

How does truFYX ensure compatibility with UAS systems?

truFYX uses NMEA 0183 and MAVLink protocols, enabling integration with most UAS systems. It transmits position, velocity, and time data at 5 Hz, which supports real-time navigation and surveillance needs additional informaitn is available in the truFYX-NMEA-ICD and the truFYX TSO User and Installation manual. <Link to documents>

What additional features does truFYX EXT provide compared to truFYX TSO?

truFYX EXT is designed for non-certified applications and includes a robust enclosure, barometric pressure altimeter, and internal heater. It maintains the same GPS/SBAS receiver technology as the TSO-certified truFYX, enhancing utility for varied UAS deployments.
