July 5, 2021 – Bigfork, Montana – On the heels of uAvionix’s recent eVTOL flight held in North Dakota, which demonstrated the all-new George custom autopilot and purpose-built SkyLine Command and Control (C2) Infrastructure. The uAvionix Team traveled to Tillamook, Oregon, to the Near Space Corp. UAS Test Site for their third demonstration flight of George and SkyLine at a new location.

Near Space Corp. supports the leading-edge innovations in Lighter-Than-Air technologies. Located at the Port of Tillamook, Oregon Airport (KTMK). With an operations area of 32,000 square miles of regional airspace, the FAA-designated test range made an ideal location for uAvionix’s next technology demonstration flight.

The demonstration at Near Space Corp. featured the uAvionix custom eVTOL testbed equipped with George G2i, the latest iteration of George with an integrated airborne C2 radio and Detect-and-Avoid (DAA) ADS-B IN capability. On the ground, the uAvionix skyStation2 ground radio was deployed for high-integrity, long-range data communication between the George autopilot. Overseeing the entire operation in the cloud, SkyLine, uAvionix’s purpose-built airborne network, partitioned to provide not just quality of service, but integrity of service monitored the flight through skyStation2 and ensured a reliable connection was never compromised.

Following another successful flight, uAvionix is pleased to release an Evaluation Kit available to operators and platform developers to integrate George G2i and skyStation2 into existing platforms for a simpler, low-SWaP, certifiable autopilot, and command-and-control solution.

The George G2i and SkyStation2 Evaluation Kit is now available for immediate purchase from uAvionix.com.
