The First Connected Avionics Ecosystem Built Around the App Pilots Already Know by Heart

Debuting at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026, SkyPlay eliminates the learning curve of new avionics by bringing the familiar ForeFlight interface directly into the instrument panel.

OSHKOSH, WI – July 14, 2026 – Avionics innovator uAvionix and flight planning leader Jeppesen ForeFlight have partnered to introduce SkyPlay, a disruptive hardware-software ecosystem designed to bridge the gap between portable tablets and panel-mounted avionics. SkyPlay will make its public debut next week at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.

For forty years, the avionics industry has followed the same rigid playbook: buy a new box, then spend hours learning its unique knobs, menus, and logic. Pilots have routinely found themselves translating workflows back and forth between the EFB on their knee and the glass in their panel.

SkyPlay ends the translation challenge. It brings the core ForeFlight experience—the same mapping, routing, and workflow—directly into the panel. A pilot can plan a flight remotely on an iPad, sync it instantly once inside the aircraft, and manage it seamlessly from either interface while in the air.

Because touchscreens can become challenging in heavy turbulence, the SkyPlay hardware pairs its digital interface with robust tactile controls. Pilots get physical, multifunction control knobs that work flawlessly in rough air and with flight gloves on.

Aircraft owners continually express the desire for modern, connected avionics that offer a realistic path of entry—not a panel upgrade that costs more than the airplane itself. SkyPlay changes that equation. Behind the initial rollout is an upcoming suite of panel applications anchored entirely in the ForeFlight environment that pilots already trust, allowing certified and experimental aircraft to gain significant cockpit capability without a full panel redesign.

See it Live at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026

Pilots attending AirVenture (July 20–26, 2026) can experience the SkyPlay ecosystem firsthand. Interactive, live flight simulators will be running all week at both company exhibits:

  • uAvionix: Hangar C, Booths 3045–3047
  • Jeppesen ForeFlight: Jeppesen ForeFlight Exhibit, Booths 443–445

The timing of the debut carries personal significance as well. Opening day of AirVenture, July 20, marks the 64th birthday of uAvionix founder Paul Beard, who started the company with a distinct mission: to bring modern, affordable avionics within reach of the pilots flying today’s general aviation fleet.

Availability

SkyPlay will be operating live throughout AirVenture, with pricing and estimated shipments to be announced in the near future. To sign up for launch updates and more information, scan the QR code below or visit skyPlay.aero.
